Elon Musk posted a series of short videos on Instagram on Saturday showing him dancing to techno music with workers at the German plant and has been under fire recently for his questionable behavior..
“Dance party tonight at Tesla Berlin,” Musk wrote, adding that it was “first time we could find common ground for full self-driving.”
It appears that the event was prompted by a challenge put out by Musk on Monday. On Wednesday, he tweeted the news that there will be an event in Europe this weekend. “Will attend a factory opening in Germany Friday afternoon, where I’m told the advance team is searching for contractors that can repair a water pump station outside the plant that should have been fixed when the system was constructed,” he stated. “The water pump stations are not hard to find.” He closed his message with a happy face emoji.
“Today, Tesla Manufacturing in Berlin,” Musk tweeted Saturday. “Soon, a store will open.”
Elon Musk hasn’t tweeted about it, but he recently opened up about his long-term vision in an interview. In a reply to fellow billionaire and Virgin Group founder Richard Branson, Musk tweeted that Mars is “a beautiful place with breath-taking views. Hope we will be able to share it with you and your entire family.”
In the past, Elon Musk has expressed his aim to get humans off of Earth and onto Mars. Mr Musk said in July 2019 that “the chance of us being on Mars is something like 90%” during a SpaceX presentation.
“I want to die on Mars,” Musk stated during his talk on September 30. “Rather than a collision, I’d like to impact.”
The dance party is just the latest oddity in Elon Musk’s career, which has included smoking marijuana and drinking bourbon during a video conversation with Joe Rogan last month. Elon Musk has said he will start selling $500 flamethrowers — which would be branded with Boring Company’s logo — on the internet to finance the tunneling firm’s future projects.
Articles from Fortune, Business Insider, and The Sun have covered the event with headlines like “Tesla workers made to dress up as storm troopers while dancing through the production line to boost morale” and “Elon Musk appears to smoke weed and drink whiskey during an interview.”
It was reported that Tesla employees were asked to sign a nondisclosure agreement in which they pledged not to reveal the event’s goings-on.
“It was tense. They said we’re not allowed to say anything,” stated one employee, who feared getting fired if they did.
“Musk looked like he was enjoying himself while dancing in the crowd,” the source added.
There has been no explanation for Musk’s odd behavior, but Tesla representatives have denied it to media outlets, stating that “we believe there is significant exaggerations and sensationalism here.”
