If you’re trying to build your wardrobe but don’t know which colors would look best on you, it’s vital to understand how your skin tone may influence the clothes you wear. Knowing your skin tone can assist you in selecting colors that balance with your natural undertone while avoiding those that clash.
The greatest clothing for your skin tone should use colors that compliment your skin tone, so you stand out in a group. In contrast, clothes in hues that don’t match your complexion make your hair and skin appear dull or even ill.
The goal of this post is to teach you how to determine your skin tone and the best hues for it so that you can dress according to your skin tone.
DETERMINING YOUR SKIN TONE
You’ll need to figure out what items go together because your skin tone doesn’t always match. The undertone, not the surface tone, is what determines whether something looks good on you. When you’re shopping for clothing that matches your skin tone, you’re really searching for clothing that compliments your skin’s undertone rather than the surface tone.
Despite the fact that individuals have a variety of skin tones, there are only three distinct sorts of skin undertones: warm, cool, and neutral. The color yellow is associated with warmer complexions, while pink is linked with cooler complexions. A neutral complexion combines elements of both warm and cool undertones. Despite the fact that your epidermis’ color may vary depending on how dark you are, your skin undertone will not.
If you’re not sure what your skin undertone is or how to tell whether you’re warm or cold, try the following techniques:
1. EXAMINE YOUR VEINS
To figure out what your skin tone is, start with your veins. Due to the skin being thinner, the blood vessels on your elbows, temples, and wrists are often exposed. You can frequently see veins through light skin, making it simpler to tell what color they are.
As you look at your veins, check to see if you have blue or green veins. Blue veins signal that you have a cool skin tone, whereas green shows that you have a warm skin tone. If you can’t tell if you have green or blue, it’s likely that you have a neutral skin tone.
2. TRY THE PAPER TEST
If you can’t see your veins or want extra confirmation, the next stage in determining your skin tone is to perform a white paper test on yourself. To assist you recognize the colors that jump out at you, place a white piece of paper against your skin. These hues then help you determine your skin tone.
Instead of placing a piece of paper near your face, place it near your chest or throat. The face may have reddish tones for a variety of reasons, such as sun exposure.
Look for the colors that become more prominent than the white piece of paper against your chest or neck. Your complexion is cool if you notice pink and blue hues, whereas your complexion is warm if you detect gold and green hues. Because of this, the skin tone is probably more stable than you think. The amount of sun exposure and the time of year will influence the skin’s tone; it will fluctuate.
3. THINK ABOUT HOW YOUR SKIN REACTS TO SUN
If you’re constantly sunburned, especially during the summer season, your skin is likely to be cool toned. Those with warm skin, on the other hand, are more inclined to tan rather than burn. You can also have a neutral tone if you don’t tan but seldom get burned. You may have a neutral tone if your sunburns usually heal quickly and turn into a tan, despite the fact that you don’t burn often.
Don’t go out and expose yourself to the sun to see if you get burned or not when testing this. Instead, consider how your skin has reacted in the past. If sunburns are unusual, you’ll have your answer right away.
LEARN YOUR SEASONS
Many individuals prefer to distinguish between persons with warm and cool undertones in today’s society. In reality, there are two subcategories beneath both the warm and cool skin tones that may be used to complement your undertone. Season variants can also be found in this category. These categories frequently distinguish people into four distinct seasons to emphasize the distinctions. The following are the differences between the four primary kinds of skin tones:
COOL TONE SEASONS
Summers and winters are both cool tones, and they share a lot in common. They do, however, have some differences that men who know how to dress should be aware of:
- Summer: You may notice that the skin tone in this photo has pink, red, or blue undertones while administering the white paper test. Those with a summer skin tone will have hair and eye color that is a natural counterpoint to their complexion.
- Winter: The white paper test will show the same undertones of pink, red, or blue for those with a winter skin tone. Someone with a winter skin tone, on the other hand, would have bright eye color and hair in contrast to their complexion. Someone with black hair but pale skin has a winter skin tone, for example.
WARM TONE SEASONS
Although the seasons and autumns have warm undertones, there are some distinctions between the two skin types:
- Spring: During the white paper test, a spring skin tone has undertones of peach, cream, and golden. Springs have strawberry red or straw-colored hair, freckles, blue or green eyes and rosy cheeks.
- Autumn: A white paper test will reveal golden or yellow undertones for individuals with an autumn skin tone. Autumns have darker hair and eyes, on average, than people with a spring complexion.
COLORS FOR COOL SKIN TONES
On the cool side of the color spectrum, the best colors for cool skin tones are emeralds, deep purples, lavender, pink, ice blue, and bright blues. If you want to add a warmer tone to your clothing, try using incredibly light yellows, rose reds, and rubies. Bright white, gray, and navy are all good choices.
The primary goal of selecting these hues is to make a beautiful contrast with your fair complexion. Because a cool skin tone generally indicates that your skin is pale or has small features, use darker colors to enhance the contrast.. The greatest clothing for pale skin are often colored in such hues as emerald green, blue and bold colors like red.
Choose metals like platinum or silver rather than gold or copper if you wish to include timepieces or other jewelry pieces into your clothing. Avoid wearing orange, bright yellow, and tomato red. These hues will clash with your skin and prevent you from looking your finest.
You may go a step further by selecting colors that complement your particular skin type. While wearing clothing from a different cool tone season is typically preferable than donning a warm tone, choosing colors that match your season is a good bet for looking your finest. Here are some suggestions for people with summer or winter skin tones:
- Summer: Summers look their best when they use softer hues rather than brighter ones. Pale blue and lilac are two options, as are less vibrant neutral hues with undertones of rose. Pastel colors likewise work well on summers.
- Winter: In the winter, pink and blue are great colors to wear. They also tend to stand out more when they use darker hues like navy blue, white, or black in their clothing.
COLORS FOR WARM SKIN TONES
If you’re trying to figure out what colors go well with warm skin tone, there’s no need to look further. Earth tones are a fantastic option for persons with a warm skin tone undertone. Colors such as green, beige, mustard yellow, and fiery reds are often associated with the best hues for people with warm skin tones. You may use whites, neutrals, and bold colors to complement your skin tone. Warm skin tones that you may work with include peach, coral, amber, and gold. Choose warmer hues such as olive, orchid, violet-red or moss if you want to go with a chilly motif.
You may also combine a few neutral hues. Softer neutrals, such as ivory, beige, taupe, mushroom gray, and cappuccino, all look fantastic with a warm skin tone. Natural, warm colors tend to compliment warmer skin tones well.
Choose warm metals, such as gold and copper, rather than silver or platinum, when purchasing watches and other men’s jewelry. While you can never wear platinum or silver, gold will be your go-to choice because it compliments your undertone. A great skin care tip is to avoid wearing colors that are icy blue or jewel tones. These hues often wash out your complexion and give it a gray appearance.
You may also make use of colors that are appropriate for your season to pick up your style. The following are the major hues to use in the spring or fall:
- Spring: Springs look fantastic in bright, vivid hues like yellow, orange, peach, coral, and ochre. Gold is a good combination with springs for jewelry.
- Autumn: Autumn colors look wonderful in clothing featuring colors like caramel, green, beige, tomato red, and coffee. Autumns may wear gold accessories as well, but they are much more flexible since copper and bronze are fine.
COLORS FOR NEUTRAL SKIN TONES
If you don’t have a clear warm or cool skin tone, the clothing industry is your oyster. Warm and cool skin tones can both be matched with hues. You’ll have the most color options of any woman because you’ll be able to draw from both ends of the color spectrum.
The majority of colors are appropriate for people with neutral skin tones, however the ideal clothing for dark skin should be in the middle of the color spectrum, such as jade green or pale pink. Additionally, keep in mind that although most hues may be combined, it does not imply you must incorporate them all at once. If you’re going with a bright color like cobalt blue, choose complementary and subdued colors to balance the look.
Make sure your clothing don’t appear to merge with your skin by wearing only neutral tones. Brown apparel simply don’t provide enough contrast due to the fact that neutral skin tones are typically darker.
You should avoid particular colors such as black and navy. Even though these hues will look wonderful on you, they won’t emphasize your malleable skin tone. Colors that stand out for your complexion, but also because most men’s wardrobes are dominated by black and navy. You’ll stand out from the crowd by keeping these hues to a bare minimum.
COLORS FOR EVERY SKIN TONE
You can wear pale pink, bright red, teal, and dark purple with confidence because they are all universal colors that complement all skin tones. These hues look fantastic, but don’t think you should go to work or a social gathering looking like that. Instead, use these hues alone with the remainder of your clothing to make a stunning combination when coupled with accessories.

Netflix Is Getting Involved In The Meghan And Harry Saga
Fans of the British royal family were ecstatic when it was announced in May that Netflix will release an “At Home With” style documentary series focusing on none other than royal rebels Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Duke and Duchess of Sussex (via Page Six). The pair, who now live in California with their two children, struck a lucrative distribution deal with Netflix to share their life story.
According to several sources, the film’s release date has been evolving for weeks; will Netflix be able to air it in time with Prince Harry’s much-anticipated memoir, which is set to be published this fall, or will it not appear on screens until next year? A rep for Netflix stated at the time, “The announcement has not been made yet, and things are still in flux” (Page Six).
However, new information suggests that Netflix is attempting to capitalize on the fuss surrounding the royal family by releasing Meghan/Harry, a documentary series at the same time they release the next season of their blockbuster hit, “The Crown.”
What Netflix is aiming to do
Netflix is working “extremely hard” to release the docuseries about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex by the end of the year, according to an inside source, in order for it to be available on living rooms throughout the world in time for both Prince Harry’s upcoming tell-all book and the network’s own royal drama “The Crown.”
“There’s a lot to organize and a lot of things going on here,” said one source to Page Six. “Netflix wants to make sure they don’t get scooped by Harry’s book, so they’re coming in hard.” The fifth season of “The Crown” is set to premiere on Netflix this November (via BTV). The final season will pick up in the 1980s, focusing on the marital issues faced by Princess Diana and Prince Charles, Harry’s parents.
It’s uncertain whether Netflix will be able to actualize this mythical combination, but we’ll keep you informed!
Instagram knows you don’t like its changes. They don’t care.
Instagram has released numerous improvements in recent years in an attempt to transition from a social media platform to an e-commerce behemoth, messaging application, and, most recently, a short-form video discovery platform comparable to TikTok.
Now this public identity crisis is bleeding into its user base.
Adam Mosseri, the head of Instagram, addressed the situation on Tuesday morning in a bid to prevent further damage. Wearing a bright yellow pullover and facing the camera, he attempted to quieten a mounting rebellion from prominent Instagrammers.
On Sunday, Kim Kardashian West and other high-profile personalities shared a black-and-white image that read: “Make Instagram Instagram Again. (Stop trying to be TikTok I just want to see cute photos of my friends.) Sincerely, everyone.” The viral story, written by a 21-year-old influencer named Tatiana Bruening, has more than 1.9 million likes as of Wednesday morning.
In the video, Mosseri explained that the app was in transition and that some features, such as a full-screen feed, were simply tests. “There’s a lot going on on Instagram right now,” he said. “We’re experimenting with a number of different changes to the app, and so we’re hearing a lot of concerns from all of you.” But the rapid succession of new features and tests has prompted even its most devoted users to ask if Instagram itself understands what it’s doing.
“Instagram has become overcrowded with so many different types of content happening at the same time,” Bruening said. “Everyone has been feeling the same thing at the same time, but a lot of people have been too afraid to say anything.”
Many changes to the app have been made, including but not limited to: eliminating chronological timelines, elevating photo posts, and downplaying algorithmic discovery. A Change.org petition initiated by Bruening aims to restore many of these features, including a chronological timeline, priority for photo postings, and removing the Reels video tool. By Wednesday morning, it had more than 190,000 supporters.
Instagram, which has more than 1 billion monthly active users as of 2021, is still vulnerable to competition from TikTok, which boasts about 400 million monthly active users. While Instagram continues to outpace TikTok in terms of total number of users, short-form video app use has exploded in recent years. In 2020, TikTok became the most-downloaded app in the world, and its young user base began spending more time on it than Instagram and Facebook. The earnings report from Instagram’s parent firm Meta is expected to be published on Wednesday, and it will show if TikTok has harmed its market share.
The Instagram controversy has spilled over into the physical realm. Last Saturday, several dozen content producers gathered outside the firm’s New York headquarters to protest its restrictive community standards and modifications that make locating new users difficult.
How to fix your ‘trash’ Instagram feed — at least temporarily
However, the organization is attempting to move closer to the entertainment world. According to a person familiar with the matter who spoke on the condition of anonymity, Instagram owner Meta is establishing an advisory board that will include top entertainment executives, managers, and publicists. The plan has been in the works for over a year, but outreach to possible board members began this week. The board will not focus on specific product improvements, but rather on how Meta may collaborate with the entertainment industry more closely. Others, on the other hand, believe Instagram’s intentions may yet be validated because only the platform has the data to see what is and isn’t working.
The fact that Instagram is putting out so much effort to challenge its basic purpose of connecting with friends and relatives, according to some pundits, speaks to how radically social media has evolved. “Making that content harder to access shows the competitive landscape they’re in right now,” said Matt Perault, director of the Center on Technology Policy at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. “It might be totally necessary that they pivot, but that doesn’t mean that they’ll succeed in this new world.”
Instagram will have to pay attention to the proper people and navigate the fallout from either side if it wants to weather the storm. “There’s a war between people who want Instagram to be more like Snapchat and people who want it to be more TikTok,” Woodbury said. “Right now the former group is larger and louder.”
Inside Khloé Kardashian’s Huge Baby News With Tristan Thompson
Sources tell TMZ that Khloé Kardashian is expecting a baby via surrogate with her ex-boyfriend Tristan Thompson. According to a spokesperson for Kardashian, the news is true. Us Weekly reported that the confirmation read: “Khloé is incredibly grateful to the extraordinary surrogate for such a beautiful blessing. We’d like to ask for kindness and privacy so that Khloé can focus on her family.” The baby was conceived in November, implying the surrogate should deliver any time between August and September.
Kardashian and Thompson already have a daughter named True, but the good news is somewhat tempered by the fact that the pair are no longer together. More so, Thompson stated that he had cheated on Kardashian with fitness trainer Maralee Nichols during the pregnancy – and that he fathered a kid with her (via The U.S. Sun). “Khloé, you don’t deserve this,” he wrote in an Instagram post. “You don’t deserve the heartache and humiliation I have caused you.”
Unfortunately, Thompson’s vow of fidelity proved to be as insincere as his relationship with Kardashian. Just months later, the couple called it quits after a model accused him of getting too cozy with her, according to Page Six. He was also photographed attending a soiree at which he entered a notorious “hookup room” with three other females. Many people thought the two had split up following these things, but the latest statement has them wondering where they stand now.
Are two-time parents Khloé and Tristan back together?
In the case of Khloé Kardashian’s pregnancy, history is repeating itself. In early 2022, when she was recording “The Kardashians,” Khloé experienced one of the most difficult periods in her life, discovering Tristan Thompson’s latest indiscretion. After years of marriage, it was revealed that four years ago, he had been cheating on her while she was pregnant with their daughter True, who is now three (via Insider). Not to mention, with her younger sister Kylie’s best friend, Jordan.
Although she is concentrating on having a second kid, Kardashian is focusing on becoming a mother for the second time. According to ET Online, a source said, “The two have long said they wanted True to have a sibling, and Khloé even told her family she’d do it without Tristan if she needed to.” Her doctor, according to Us Weekly, informed her that if she tried to conceive naturally again, she was at high danger of having a miscarriage. Which is why Kardashian and Thompson decided to move forward with a surrogate. Page Six has also reported that the pair will be welcoming a baby boy, as “Khloé has always wanted a little brother for True.”
Fans want to know if this means Kardashian and Thompson are back together. No, according on the ET source: “The two aren’t together and Khloé will have the baby full time, but Khloé wants Tristan in both the kids’ lives as much as he wants to be.” The two had already been cordial for the family’s sake. The pair not only watched True’s dance recital together on Father’s Day 2022, but they also had lunch with the rest of the extended Kardashian family afterwards, as reported by TMZ.
