Meanwhile, the culture authority in Beijing has ordered China’s entertainment sector to ensure that underage performers finish compulsory education and that minors are prohibited from participating in activities that support their celebrities as an ongoing campaign against celebrities and fandoms intensifies.
The Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, in a notice published on Friday, advised agents representing minors under the age of 18 to ensure that they fulfill the necessary nine years of education and avoid “misleading adolescents” into ideas like “becoming famous early.”
Minors should also be prohibited from participating in activities and purchases that are intended to boost a celebrity’s popularity. In the event of a minor performing, the organizer must obtain permission from a guardian ahead of time, according to it.
The new directives, whose aim is to “improve the moral training” of actors, also banned any show put on by a performer who either breaks the law or disregards “ethical values.”
It recommended that we “abandon the pursuit of traffic and strive to be reputable literary and artistic professionals both professionally and ethically.”
In addition, agents have been ordered to do thorough background checks on performers and ensure that they do not represent members of the Chinese Community Party who are “alienated” from the party or have violated standards of “social equity and justice.”
In September, the National Radio and Television Administration, China’s top media regulator, issued similar instructions regarding entertainment shows and personnel, including a ban on celebrities who hold “inappropriate” political views, act unethically, or have “effeminate” male styles.
The new Beijing rule has brought public attention to the regulation of minors as performers and spectators, ordering the entertainment business to give greater value to academic study in what the government views as a frenzy around idols by teenagers and an excessively passionate fan culture.
It added that presently, talent contest shows, which are a popular type of program in which young people compete to be celebrities, have been sending the “wrong message” to youngsters about gaining fame early on in life.
In recent years, as celebrities and their fans have become younger, there has been an increase of concern in Beijing over controlling obsessed followers and unruly celebrities.
After their ages sparked widespread criticism, the Panda Boys, China’s youngest ever boy band composed of seven primary school children aged 7 to 11 years old, were forced to disband just four days after debuting in August.
Chinese authorities have condemned some in the entertainment industry for “extremely polluting the social atmosphere” since the start of the year, when a slew of tax evasion and sexual assault allegations rocked the business.
How do you feel about the Chinese government’s new crackdown on celebrities in the entertainment industry?
I believe it is a wonderful concept because many underage performers are not receiving the education they need, but I do think that some of the criteria are excessive.
What Louis Tomlinson Thinks About A Possible One Direction Reunion
After breaking out in the media with hits such as “What Makes You Beautiful,” “Story Of My Life,” “Best Song Ever,” and more, 1D took the world by storm (via Digital Spy). However, in 2015, the boy band shocked their devoted followers when they announced that they will be taking a break. According to E! News, the group shocked their fans by announcing that they would go on hiatus in 2015. After Zayn Malik announced his intentions to leave 1D, the band decided to disband in order to focus on their own solo projects.
“They are great friends and fully support one another,” a source said of the group. “They are very aware that they are able to work on their own stuff as well as remain together. This is an exciting time for them creatively and as a group.” However, it appears that at least one member of One Direction was in opposition to the split.
Before the break, Tomlinson told The Guardian that he was feeling optimistic about the band. “In the last year of One Direction, I was probably the most confident I ever was,” he said. “And then it was: ‘OK, hiatus!'” He acknowledged that he struggled against it, but ultimately lost.
Since then, One Direction has yet to record any new music. The group’s future, on the other hand, appears promising.
Did Louis Tomlinson hint at a possible 1D reunion?
According to Cheat Sheet, since announcing the group’s hiatus in 2015, One Direction members have been working on their solo careers and other activities like beginning families. Louis Tomlinson recently spoke out about a possible reunion and left fans wondering if there could be hope for the group in the future, despite Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Liam Payne, and Zayn Malik all remaining quiet on the subject of a reunion.
In 2021, Tomlinson took part in the WIRED Google autocomplete challenge, answering queries about himself that fans most search for on the internet. He went through his tattoos, color of his hair, eye color, and more before finally getting to One Direction. When asked about the group he replied, “Good time in my life. Hopefully, we come back.” The return of an iconic logo inspired fans to believe that perhaps, just maybe, the band was reuniting. Fans also noticed that when Tomlinson referred to 1D as the band he “is” in before correcting himself to say “was,” he made a minor slip of the tongue.
Could Harry’s comments be hinting at a One Direction reunion? Despite the fact that it appears improbable for now, fans have not stopped hoping for the group to reunite and create new music in the future.

I’m not a good planner. I can’t make plans for dinner. I like to pivot. You never know where I’m going, man.”
