The legendary dance music extravaganza Ultra Music Festival, which will be returning to Bayfront Park in Miami March 25-27, has today (Oct. 26) revealed the event’s notably large phase one lineup.
The line-up includes Paul Oakenfold, Inner Spirit Experience, Electric Light Orchestra (ELO), The Temper Trap, Empire of the Sun, Above & Beyond (A&B), Above & Beyond (A&B) live sets by Pendulum, Illenium and Madeon, and more.
Armin van Buuren’s famous brand A State of Trance will commemorate the tenth anniversary of Ultra Music Festival’s own stage. The first-ever all hardstyle stage at the event will be held by Belgian hardstyle, jumpstyle, and happy hard label Dirty Workz. Carl Cox will make a return to the event on a stage dubbed the Carl Cox Megastructure, where he’ll debut his new three-hour live performance Hybrid Live.
Ultra Music Festival, which began in Miami in 1999 and has since taken place in Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires, Santiago, Beijing, Seoul, Tokyo, Ibiza and Goa, Mumbai and Split is expected to sell out.
The 2020 edition of Ultra Music Festival will be the 22nd, and like its predecessors, it will be held in March. It was one of the first live events to be canceled as a result of the pandemic in March 2020, with 2021 also called off owing to public health concerns.
Fans who bought tickets for the 2020 event were able to roll over their unused tickets and use them at the 2022 show. Customers who hold 2020 GA tickets that were purchased in accordance with the event’s official ticketing rules and regulations will be upgraded to a 2022 ticket, dubbed “Premium GA,” without having to exchange their current tickets. This card includes dedicated festival entry, access to an air-conditioned rest room facility with private stalls throughout the venue, and access to a chilled beverage center with complimentary fresh juices, fruits, and water.
Phase 2 of the Ultra Music Festival’s lineup will be released January 27th and the complete line up will be revealed February 1st.
According to a press release sent to EDM.com, fans can anticipate “one of the most legendary musicians in electronic music history” performing a Sunday closing concert. The artist’s identity is under wraps for the moment, but considering his long-standing relationship with Ultra, Hardwell may be making a comeback to headline the historic return of the concert. The iconic Dutch dance music star, who retired from the industry in 2018, recently hinted at a comeback at this year’s Amsterdam Dance Event.
Electronic music fans in the United States are still trying to recover from last year’s cancellation of Miami Music Week and Ultra Music Festival, just four months after they were called off in December 2019 due to the pandemic. It was one of the first live events to be canceled as a result of the pandemic in March 2020, with 2021 also called off owing to public health concerns. Hopefully 2022 will be different!
The cancellation of Ultra Music Festival 2021 is likely to result in legal action for years after the event. According to a source, the festival has cost ticket holders an estimated $ 675 million in claims.
It looks like fans have a lot to look forward to with Ultra music festivals return in 2022! I’ll be back with more Ultra news as soon as info becomes available. Cheers!
