How did Chris Pratt become the internet’s celebrity punching bag?

Chris Pratt voicing Garfield in an animated film is a bit like having Chris Pratt voice Mario in an animated film, only more confusing, unoriginal, and likely to happen whether Twitter likes it or not. The involvement of Pratt in Sony’s Garfield reboot and Universal’s Super Mario Bros film has prompted a slew of jokes, alternate casting ideas, and unified eye rolling since then. But, more than anything else, it’s provided further proof that Pratt is one of the internet’s most relentless celebrity punching bags, despite being one of Tinseltown’s most in-demand leading men. The Star-Lord paradox might be a good place to look for an explanation.

In the Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy films, Pratt transformed his physique from one of a soft everyman to that of an obnoxiously ripped action hero. He became a matinee idol overnight. Personality-wise, Star-Lord borrowed on the likeable charisma Pratt exuded in the TV comedy Parks & Recreation, where he frequently stole the show. The excitement in his voice, coupled with the immaturity and wonderment of his tone would be immortalised in reaction images that would spread across Facebook like wildfire from everyone’s older cousin. However, today, Pratt’s name seems to elicit only weary exhalations rather than anything joyful. He’s become a sort of James Corden with abs, or the total inverse of internet-beloved Brendan Fraser, shorthand for the decidedly uncouth famous person it’s acceptable and even encouraged to be mean about. He’s been a hot topic ever since news of his Garfield casting broke. He became even more prominent on social media recently, when he made a somewhat strange Instagram thank you to his wife – the self-improvement author and daughter of Arnold Schwarzenegger – for loving him so much.

Pratt’s slip into the web’s crosshairs is generally said to be due to his politics or lack thereof, according to conventional wisdom. His affiliation with an evangelical-Christian church accused in 2019 of being “anti-gay” by Elliot Page, to whom Pratt somewhat ambiguously responded by claiming that it “opens its doors to absolutely everyone,” was especially contentious. Stars are supposed to utilize their voices for sociocolitical good, it is claimed, and someone like Pratt – who claims he isn’t “represented by either side” and therefore avoids talking about politics in public – has broken a Hollywood rule by staying out of it. However, this is not the case. Many well-known individuals who are relatively adored by the internet are likewise somewhat guarded when it comes to their personal beliefs: can you think of a time when Margot Robbie or Timothée Chalamet said anything particular about their political views?

Why has Chris Pratt been singled out when extremely famous actors such as Leonardo DiCaprio can keep their views quiet with little fuss? In reality, it seems to be less about his personal life and more about being cool.

In the wake of Guardians of the Galaxy, Pratt became known as a symbol for Hollywood’s bottom rungs. He is the public face of the relaunched Jurassic Park franchise, which is widely recognized as a cynical money-making ploy based only on nostalgia and good CGI. He appeared in a Magnificent Seven reboot that disappeared from the public eye once it left theaters, and Garfield and Super Mario Bros are two more recent animated projects — following his Lego Movie franchise — that were only created to exploit existing intellectual property. Chris Hemsworth’s first middling-sized blockbuster, the sci-fi romance Passengers, with Jennifer Lawrence, was also a morally reprehensible catastrophe in which he gaslighted his love interest for 90 minutes before trapping her in a lifetime of interacting with absolutely no human being who isn’t Chris Pratt. In general, for a star with charisma that burns through the screen whenever he’s in a funny comedy, the actor’s career choices have been disappointingly bland.

A perplexing round-robin of defensive accolades by Pratt’s Marvel pals in 2020, all of them responding to a random Twitter thread that labeled Pratt Hollywood’s “worst Chris,” was just as unappealing. For some reason, the discussion – which saw Pratt against his fellow Chrises Hemsworth, Evans, and Pine – took hold. The internet seems to recycle the same flimsy “debates” about unimportant issues every few weeks, but this one caught on. “If you have a problem with Chris, I have a suggestion for you: shut down your social media accounts, confront YOUR OWN defects of character, and work on THEM. Then celebrate your humanity,” Robert Downey Jr. stated in his tweet. “Chris Pratt is one of the most solid people I’ve ever met. He’s amazing ,” wrote Mark Ruffalo on Instagram. “The best guy in the world is Chris Pratt,” said director James Gunn via Twitter.

Beyond the fact that so many Marvel heavyweights did not rush to Brie Larson’s defense when she was being slandered and flogged by the alt-right throughout 2019 for requesting to be interviewed by more Black women journalists, or offer much support for Scarlett Johansson when she was dubbed an elitist, money-crazed shrew by Disney’s attorneys after she sued the company over Black Widow revenues this summer – it was a strangely pious appearance overall. Especially for some little snickering on the internet.

While Pratt – or any other tremendously wealthy, powerful, and successful celebrity – shouldn’t be immune to ridicule or criticism, it’s worth asking why some people are more drawn to it than others. Pratt, on the other hand, isn’t a terrible person. He’s just a religious, bland movie star that is somewhat too dependent on making awful movies. He’s not more deserving of praise than anybody else, but he doesn’t deserve much more derision either. So hold off on your ridicule tweet when he’s announced as the first cast member in a film version of Hungry Hungry Hippos or anything else equally awful. Not because it’s unjust, but because it’s a little tiring.

Why You Should Be Stirring Some Cinnamon Into Your Coffee

Coffee isn’t simply a beverage; it’s an experience for true coffee enthusiasts. Coffee hacks, besides the ever-changing choices available in cafés and supermarkets, provide you with another way to make your favorite morning beverage taste even better.

Coffee, in and of itself, is not only enjoyable but also has a slew of health benefits. It’s been said to protect us against illness, among other things. Coffee might help you process blood sugar better, protect against heart failure, stroke and decrease your chances of developing colon cancer, Parkinson’s disease, and Alzheimer’s disease, according to Johns Hopkins Medicine. According to The New York Times, drinking a cup of coffee daily can help you live longer (naturally). It can also reduce the risk of depression, aid in maintaining a healthy weight, increase energy levels, and improve your life expectancy.

Coffee has many health advantages, but what you put in your coffee makes all the difference in terms of making your daily cup of coffee healthy, and can either enhance or ruin your regular routine. Here’s why you should be adding cinnamon to your daily brew.

Cinnamon has even more health benefits

The major problem with so many delectable things that we put into coffee is that they are frequently high in sugar and chemically preserved. Artificial sweeteners, which are often used in place of sugar, can include harmful chemicals. As a consequence of ingesting them (via Cleveland Clinic), artificial sweeteners may cause weight gain by altering the gut.

Cinnamon, on the other hand, is a spice that comes from nature. It’s one of the most frequently used spices, alongside black pepper, and one of the most beneficial to your health (via MedicalNews Today). According to USDA, half a teaspoon of cinnamon each day may reduce blood sugar, cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, and triglycerides.

Cinnamon contains many health advantages, including blood sugar reduction and cardiovascular disease prevention, as well as cancer, Alzheimer’s disease, and multiple sclerosis protection. When you put cinnamon into your morning coffee, it increases the protective effects and the health advantages increase as a result of daily usage.

Cinnamon makes a delicious addition to various brews

Cinnamon, unlike expensive creamers or extracts, is a simple and frequent pantry item. You probably already have some on hand. Even if you don’t, it’s an inexpensive and long-lasting spice that looks great with hot coffee.

Before you brew the coffee, we recommend sprinkling cinnamon in the filter to avoid clumping on top. Another reason is that it’s critical to make sure the cinnamon is completely incorporated so you get an even taste throughout the whole cup, with no strong vs. weak sips (via Roasty Coffee).

However, not everyone wants their cinnamon flavor to be spread out. To add cinnamon to your cup of coffee, sprinkle the spice over the grounds before brewing. This is particularly useful if you drink your coffee black. If you want to add anything, consider using whipped cream or foam. A cinnamon stick is another option.

Final thoughts on adding cinnamon to your coffee

In conclusion,  we would like to reiterate that there are many health benefits of adding cinnamon to your coffee. Not only does it make your cup of joe more flavorful, but it also provides numerous health advantages.

If you’re looking for a way to make your coffee healthier, we recommend trying cinnamon. It’s an easy and delicious addition that may help improve your health in the long run.

Give it a try and see for yourself!  You might be surprised at how much you enjoy the flavor.

Paing Takhon, a Burmese model-actor who has been dubbed the World’s Most Handsome Face by Time magazine, was sentenced to three years in prison on the same day.

In the same week that Paing Takhon, a model and actor, was named “Most Handsome Face” of 2021 by entertainment site TC Candler, he was sentenced to three years in prison for speaking out during anti-government protests in Myanmar.

Takhon was chosen the “Most Handsome Face” of 2021, corresponding to his sentencing this week for his role in the anti-coup demonstrations in Myanmar earlier this year. In April, he was detained after making public remarks on social media in support of demonstrators.

Takhon rose to prominence in the first half of 2021 as the “hot monk,” thanks to popular social media posts. He had already worked in films and a television series in Burma at the time.

His good looks received attention from TC Candler, who dubbed him the “Most Handsome Face” of 2021 and the “Most Beautiful Face” went to Lisa of Blackpink in 2021. Since 1990, People magazine has published a worldwide “Most Beautiful Face” poll.

According to his legal team, Takhon was sentenced to three years in jail with hard labor this week.

The protests, which began in February after a military coup that arrested senior government officials, including civilian leader Aung San Suu Kyi, have resulted in the arrest of more than 7,000 people and the deaths of more than 1,000 others.
