She began her professional career since she was able to walk. At the age of two, she played the younger version of her sister, Dakota Fanning, in various films as noted by Marie Claire in a 2020 profile of the actress.
Fortunately, it just took a few years for the younger Fanning to be recognized in her own right. She was soon cast in prominent films like “Daddy Day Care” and “Babel,” opposite Eddie Murphy and Brad Pitt, respectively.
Unlike Dakota, however, Fanning did not begin acting seriously until later in life, reasoning that the sisters were “always dressing up and having these fantastic imaginations that we would play out” at home.
It was only when she was 9 years old, when the youngster was cast as a character with Tourette’s syndrome in “Phoebe in Wonderland” and had to prepare for the part, that she realized her reality.
“Oh, this is a job, and I’m telling someone’s story, and there is a responsibility of getting it right,” she recalls thinking.
These days, of course, the actress is well-known in her own right. Despite having millions of fans on her public Instagram account, it was widely thought that Fanning was using a private TikTok.
When prompted, the star of Netflix’s “The Great” finally revealed the truth for once and for all.
Is Elle Fanning using TikTok under an anonymous account?
Following more than a year of rampant fan guessing, Elle Fanning eventually confirmed the truth about her rumoured secret TikTok account, according to Entertainment Weekly.
When asked by host Jimmy Fallon if she was the owner of @user6754189318472, which had tens of thousands of followers at the time. After a brief, tantalizing pause, Fanning replied, “I confirm that it is me.”
When Fallon joked that she was “obviously doing this for the followers” by using such a attention-grabbing name, the actress explained why she had done it in such an unorthodox manner.
“I think in the first lockdown, right when everything started, TikTok so exploded,” Fanning shared. “And I was with my friend and he was like, ‘You should make one and just see what happens. Just do it, don’t put a profile, just don’t change the name, and let’s see.'”
Despite not having any involvement with the account in any real sense, Fanning acquired a large number of followers very rapidly, with TikTok even noting that she’d hit a certain milestone at one time.
“I was just doing it as a joke!” the actor said. “I just post what I want. It’s silly. It’s like a little secret.”
Well, clearly, not anymore.
