7 TIPS FOR FIRST TIME Electric Daisy Carnival ATTENDEES
The Electric Daisy Carnival is a popular event that many ravers (and non-ravers) hope to attend. EDC is an annual festival that takes place at three different locations throughout the United States. It’s jam-packed with exciting things to do, including three days of fantastic music, attractions, and unique persons – guaranteed to create memories you’ll never forget. Even though we always have the greatest intentions when preparing for a festival, things don’t Always work out as planned. While you can never be certain what EDC has in store for you, there are a few basic things you may do to ensure that your weekend is as fantastic as possible! Here are seven pointers from an EDC veteran who has been there and done that for first-time EDC goers to make their journey a pleasant one.
1. A WATER BOTTLE OR A CAMEL PACK CAN HELP YOU STAY HYDRATED.
The single most essential thing at EDC is to remain hydrated. You won’t be able to attend your favorite set if you aren’t hydrated! Even I, who grew up in Las Vegas and has spent the majority of his life there, thinks it’s still hot at night in May. I cannot emphasize enough how essential it is to stay hydrated. The EDC has water bottles and water packs for sale, but it’s a good idea to get one ahead of time so you don’t have to stand in line. There are a ton of companies that make cute and comfortable hydro packs, so you can stay hydrated and have a fun accessory for your festival outfit.
2. PRIORITIZE YOUR ARTIST LINEUP
Keep things basic. Make a list of who you CANNOT MISS, those you’d want to see, and those you could see if you have more time! For most EDC attendees, the most stressful aspect is planning their activities. Unless you want to spend 5 minutes at each, you will not be able to see every single set. Choose the ones that are your most essential, then work your way down to make certain you see everyone you want. Finding out which sets are essential will also assist you in determining when to depart for the night. Always have to go see Excision; I never miss his show!
3. PREPARE FOR THE ELEMENTS
Weather is a variable at EDC, and it’s important to prepare for the unexpected. It can be 90 degrees Fahrenheit from 11 am – 4 pm, but drop down into the lower 60s after dark . It takes time to adjust your body temperature when you leave one of those rave caves.
4. CARPOOL AND DROP A PIN
UBER and LYFT both have great car-pool options! It benefits more than just your tribe; it also aids traffic and the parking lot. Even if you don’t have a specific set or artist in mind, I strongly advise you to arrive at the speedway early. If you arrive early, you can ride the attractions, get water early, secure a parking space near the exit, and be under the shade in the ID line rather than in the sun! Take photographs of where you parked, anything that is significant around you (light poles, flags, etc.), and what lot you are in if you drive your own car. If you can put a pin on your phone, do it. It’s unlikely you’ll forget where you left your car if you don’t take the risk of losing it.
5. BRING A PORTABLE PHONE CHARGER
Saving your battery to capture the last set at sunrise is fantastic, but it’s even better when you can locate your automobile, your pals, or a ride home! Don’t be the person who can’t be found because you didn’t charge your phone. Get a portable charger and use it to enjoy the night full of recorded memories! The best thing is viewing what you captured the next day or even years later!
6. WEAR COMFY KICKS
At the speedway, there is a lot of walking. There’s asphalt, grass, bleachers, stairs, and gravel on the field, so look for shoes that you will be comfortable to walk in for an extended period of time.If you’re looking to wear the beautiful shoes you just bought, I strongly suggest bringing an extra pair to store in your locker and pull out later if you need them.
7. TAKE TIME TO CHILL
The Electric Daisy Carnival might be overwhelming for a first-time attendee. I recommend preparing some chill locations before your trip. Consider sitting and resting at Cosmic Meadow’s grass, or the bleachers where you may sit high and enjoy the view. There are also lovely places in front of Art Cars! If you come upon an open time slot in your excursions, you could go on a ride! EDC has a lot of exciting rides. The hang gliders are something I suggest because they provide a stunning perspective. Alternatively, go on one of the Ferris Wheels to get an incredible view of EDC!
