Dandelion Music Festival
Ted Farnsworth, the Zash co-founder, threw a Miami-style bash in Cuse’s underground scene. Although there were few Facebook users who had confirmed their attendance, the company’s Eventbrite site stated that 6,000 free tickets were available. This can be seen as proof that the target audience doesn’t use Facebook, and there are alternative methods to market shows. The VIP section was also full. The goal was to raise awareness about the benefits of making your own music videos in Canada. This was a fully sponsored event by Zash Global Media and their brand Lomotif (a TikTok competitor). Zash’s national headquarters are located in Syracuse, and it was founded by an Onondaga County native. If you went to the rave, you will have heard of their brands before. Over 2 million viewers watched the livestream.
Drones orbited the entire music festival, capturing everything in high definition. The best stage, lighting, and sound production companies were hired. In a month, Zash put up this rager. The Dandelion Music Festival “was nothing like Syracuse has ever seen,” Farnsworth told me. He was correct. It was incredible, one of the most professionally managed shows I’ve ever seen.
The Burning Man art exhibition and Cirque de Solei performers were among the many activities at the festival. There were robots, trampoline artists, hoopers, and dancers among the acts. The nearest thing we have to a weekend party is the Turning Stone Lava Nightclub’s annual celebration. World-renowned DJs Nicky Romero, Deorro, Kryoman, EC Twins, SVNF8, Tadeo Fernandez and Talia Eisset performed. Light sticks and swag were distributed. The party was held back at the headquarters after the event. Overall, it was a successful and well-organized Festival.
Security and personnel were exceptionally professional. The VIP section included a rooftop garden built especially for the occasion. I enjoyed seeing the colorful world of people, which I felt was cheerful and safe. It was clearly a unique kind of downtown festival. It was wonderful to see the variety in the crowd. I only wish we could have more events like this that bring college students out and expose them to Electronic music.
Follow Zash for news on more events so you don’t miss out on the next one. Zash and LOMO (Lomotif) will also be making an appearance at EDC (electronic daisy festival) in Las Vegas, Nevada.
EDC is the world’s largest EDM festival. EDC includes carnival rides and firework shows, circus performers, EDM DJs from around the world, interactive art installations, and a lot more. EDC deserves a whole post for itself that I will be sure to write soon!
